Spokane Public Schools Board of Directors approved a $200 million bond proposition to rebuild Adams and Madison elementary schools, modernize sections of North Central High School and Garry and Chase middle schools, and establish a four-year SPS Trades High School to be located on the Spokane Community College campus.

Major Projects

The bond would also provide essential capital improvements at all 66 SPS facilities, including 58 schools to include roofing, air systems, disability access, safety/security upgrades and technology, and improve activities/athletics infrastructure for students/community use. See our 2018 bond page for examples of annual school improvement projects.

The projects above reflect projects funded by the proposed $200 million bond. Some projects may be enhanced based on the Together Spokane initiative - a partnership between SPS and the City of Spokane Parks and Recreation. The Together Spokane initiative relies on both the SPS bond and the Parks levy passing.

Cost

As Spokane Public Schools continues to pay off previous bonds, the proposed bond plan extension will add approximately two cents to the existing bond bill for an estimated contribution of $1.36 per thousand of assessed value, which is projected to increase, on average, 2%-3% to account for the rate of annual inflation.

The costs below represent an amount per $1,000 of assessed home value. We've included our Educational Programs and Operational (EP&O) Levy rate, which voters approved in 2024.
