Renovate Garry Middle School and adjacent Nevada Park to maximize benefit for the school and community
An initiative of SPS, LaunchNW, and local contributing partners, Engage IRL aims to increase access and opportunities for Spokane youth and families to participate in clubs, sports, arts activities, and other community events.
Our goal is to see every child and adult connected to an activity that brings them into community. To support this goal, we are working to coordinate programing and systems to increase offerings and address barriers related to cost, transportation, and registration. Engage IRL is aligned with the Together Spokane initiative to develop more spaces where activities can be held.
SPS has also utilized public and community resources to increase elementary school field trip opportunities to create more career-connected learning experiences at a young age, allowing students to engage in real life with professionals in a variety of industries while learning how to navigate public transportation.
