Project Proposal

In January 2025, the SPS School Board purchased a building in the University District at 501 N. Riverpoint Blvd. (“Riverpoint One”). The board then approved a proposal in March of 2025 to relocate our projected-based learning high school, The Community School (TCS), and district central administration office to this site within the next 3-5 years. During that time, the district will generate up to $1 million in annual revenue from existing Riverpoint One tenants and reduce district operational costs by more than $300,000 per year.

The relocation of TCS and district offices is part of a multi-phased plan to strategically sell or lease up to six district properties to co-locate district spaces with other public agencies, reduce operational costs and improve services for public use.

Through the Together Spokane initiative, SPS and other public agencies, such as the Northwest Museum of Art and Culture (MAC) are exploring opportunities to consolidate properties and resources through a shared joint operations and storage facility, reducing costs and creating opportunities to expand and enhance services.
