Cannon Hill will soon receive new automated irrigation, replacing an antiquated manual irrigation system and reducing the need for daytime watering by staff.

(While the pond area is fenced off to accommodate the irrigation work, the pond will also receive a new fill system. The complete pond renovation is slated for 2027, anticipated to save about 25 million gallons of water annually.)

The Cannon Hill Pond Irrigation Replacement Project will begin early August, with anticipated completion by the end of October.

There will be rolling closures of portions of the park to accommodate construction – first the eastern half, and then the western half.

We will make every effort to keep the restrooms and playground available as much as possible.
